Ben Affleck recently made a surprising comment about Jennifer Lopez amid ongoing legalities surrounding their split.

The Argo star spoke with Entertainment Tonight about his ex-wife's role in a film he co-produced with Matt Damon earlier this year titled, "Unstoppable," on Sunday (November 3), praising Lopez for her top-notch acting skills.

"Unstoppable is a very different movie than this, but in a way, it’s similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists. Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome], and Bobby Cannavale, all were really passionate about this film."

He continued, zooming in on Jennifer's talents and how well she fit into his and Damon's vision for the film.

"It speaks to a certain kind of thing I guess we're drawn to. We really believe in the power of storytelling when the people involved in it are deeply connected to the story. Jennifer's spectacular. We believed in the right people, and Unstoppable is another example of that."

E!News mentioned that the film was released less than one month after Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, and despite legal proceedings, there was no awkwardness at the premiere (held during the Toronto International Film Festival in September).
