Beautiful Berkely
Meet Ellen and Berkley…this week’s ‘Pets of the Week’! These two beautiful girls are about 4 months old, spayed, up-to-date on shots & looking for their ‘fur-ever’ home!
The girls were single kittens that came in all alone. Ellen had a big hole in her bottom lip, so much so that her food would fall right out of the hole. She was super needy and all she wanted was to have human contact. Once her lip started to heal up we decided she needed a friend and she got a new “sister” from another mister – Berkley, who had also come into the shelter all by herself.
These two are super sweet. They just got spayed and will be ready to go home by next week. They are not out on our adoption floor because we currently don’t have room. If someone wants to visit with them, they just need to ask the staff and you can see them.
CDHS does offer 2-for-1 kitten and cat adoption fees. This is done to provide for the cat’s mental and physical well-being – and of course, to help clear space so we can rescue another cat. We really want these two to go home together as they have had each other’s backs for several weeks and really do depend on each other.

- CYCLEBAR is holding a fundraiser day on July 16th – Pay $20 to ride and try out CYCLEBAR – all proceeds will go to CDHS – grab a friend and head over to test out a class – happening at 9 am
- CDHS will be at the Riverwalk Day at Sertoma Park on Wed, July 20th
- Lemonade Day and Papa Murphy’s Pizza at CDHS – pick up your free pizza slice and buy some lemonade at the shelter – just a fun day to stop out for a visit on July 23rd!
- Dog Days Deals Rummage Sale – intake starts July 16 and runs through Aug. 6 during regular shelter hours. The sale will be going on Aug. 10 (4-6 pm), Aug. 11 & 12 (9 am-6 pm), and Aug. 13 (9 am – 2 pm) – on Saturday, Aug. 13, all items will be free from 11 am to 2 pm.
