Jelly Roll and Machine Gun Kelly debuted a John Denver-inspired collaboration with an accompanying music video on Friday (July 26). The video spotlights real-life significant others Bunnie Xo and Megan Fox, who appears on screen with a baby bump.
The two artists shared clip from the Sam Cahill-directed music video for “Lonely Road” — calling back to Denver’s 70s classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” — that quickly prompted thousands of comments, including many Instagram users wanting to know whether the video aimed to serve as a real pregnancy announcement. Some wrote: “WAS THIS A PREGNANCY ANNOUNCEMENT OR NOT,” “Megan is pregnant ?????,” and “We need to know , WHAT IS GOING ON !? Are you having a baby !? Did jellyfish and bunnie finally get their baby !? Is Meghan becoming a surrogate for bunnie !? WHAT IS HAPPENING .”
The video also includes a glimpse of Jelly Roll console Bunnie as they receive an infertility diagnosis. The emotional scene arrives shortly after the couple revealed they’re talking about having a baby. Though Bunnie said she would opt to keep her IVF journey private after receiving “gross” comments online, she previously said, “God willing, Baby DeFord 2026.”
“What makes this collab so beautiful is its two guys that came from the exact same kinda place with less than zero percent of making it out it,” Jelly Roll said in a lengthy post on Instagram on Friday afternoon. “We have known each other for at least 15 years now. And in true young dumb fashion it was a tumultuous beginning he says basically I was one of the many people that judged him before I gave him a chance. but over time I’ve had the honor of watching him become one of the biggest artist on earth but most importantly I’ve watched him become one of the best fathers and humans on earth.
“To my brother, I want you to know The positive energy radiating off of you,” the Whitsitt Chapel star continued. “I can’t even shower you with enough praises for how incredible it has been to watch you become one of the greatest most multifaceted songwriters and musicians in the game. Thank you for picking me to be on this one brother. This song was going to be hit no matter who you called I’m just honored it was me. And I’m glad the world is getting to see your heart . You’ve been misunderstood for so long it feels a bit vindicating to watch the world see your soul . You’re one of the good ones Kells. Now let’s LACE UP! Est. for Life 🙏. Yall go check out the Video for Lonely Road with MGK and myself featuring cameos from the people we love the most in life.”
