Meghan Markle's father is currently hospitalized after reportedly suffering a stroke on Monday (May 23), according to TMZ.

Reports say, Thomas Markle, 77, was loaded into an ambulance around 9:30 p.m. Monday night while in Tijuana, Mexico. With an oxygen mask strapped to his face, the 77-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital in Chula Vista, California.

When paramedics arrived, Thomas had to write down his symptoms on a piece of paper because he was unable to speak, TMZ reports. The father feared he was having a stroke before being admitted to the California hospital.

One of Thomas' close friends told TMZ that the 77-year-old is still in the hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Meghan's father has had a prior history of heart attacks. Thomas reportedly suffered two cardiac arrests on the eve of Meghan and Harry's wedding in 2018, but some have accused him of faking his heart problems for sympathy.
